Mandeley is a family-run Guest House offering comfortable Bed and Breakfast Accommodation in the historic town of Helston, Cornwall – Home of the famous Flora Dance and Gateway to the Lizard Peninsula with its beautiful beaches, coves, cliff-walks, villages, pubs and many other Cornish attractions.

Mandeley Guest House was built in the 1950s and has undergone extensive modernisation since 1992. It can accommodate a maximum of six guests in very comfortable surroundings.

The current owners are Paul and Birgitt. Paul was actually born in the house and works locally as a Paramedic. He can assist guests with his wealth of local knowledge. His wife Birgitt runs their warm and friendly Bed and Breakfast.

Mandeley Guest House is situated at the edge of town on the A394 - the main route through to the many attractions of the area such as the beautiful Lizard Peninsular, The Helford River and the spectacular Mounts Bay south coast route to Penzance. 

Mandeley offers secure off-road parking and it is just 10 minutes walk to Helston town centre.

We are open all year except for Christmas and New Year.

Mandeley Guest House has three double/twin bedrooms - two standard and one en suite all on the ground floor at the rear of the house overlooking the garden. The rooms offer comfortable accommodation and provide peace and quiet for a good night's sleep.  

All rooms are tastefully co-ordinated and offer remote controlled television, alarm clock, hair dryer and a variety of teas, hot chocolate and coffee with complimentary biscuits. Ironing facilities can be provided on request.

Breakfast is served in our lighthouse themed dining room and guests enjoy their own living room with open gas fire and views out to the garden.

For the comfort and safety of all our guests we have a strict no smoking policy.

Helston is famous for its annual Flora Day Festival on the 8th May. The festival is believed to have originated in the pre-Christian era.

On Flora Day the town is decorated in green boughs, hazel and local bluebells which flourish wild in the area. Led by local silver bands repeatedly playing the 'Flora Dance' the traditional dancers wind their way through the streets, houses and gardens and the general revelry lasts all day from early morning until gone midnight. The dances are interspersed with more typical modern fair booths and amusements.

*Rooms 1 and 3 share a separate shower and toilet at the moment.

We have no single rooms but will use existing rooms for single occupancy (subject to availability).

A supplement of £12 will be charged. However, room rates are charged throughout August and Flora Day week.
